Job Description:
The Pricing Manager grows volume and revenue by managing contract pricing solutions, advises on pricing strategies, and provides competitive offers for UPS Accounts. He/She acts as a liaison to UPS internal stakeholders. The position manages new business growth pricing activities, with multi-product (Small Package, Freight, International Airfreight, Ocean Freight, Domestic Airfreight, Brokerage, Supplier Management) pricing efforts, provides project management expertise and support to the organization, and develops project teams. The position may have direct reports, and/or manages Analysts throughout the RFP/RFQ process.
The candidate must demonstrate complex problem solver skills and must be able to turn insights into action. The incumbent assesses the competitive landscape, current market conditions, and profitability of accounts to formulate a pricing strategy, working with Business Development to maximize UPS' value proposition. In addition, they provide project management discipline and methodology to ensure proper governance, strategic alignment, and project success. This role takes ownership of setting and achieving goals but can adapt comfortably to a changing marketplace to win and retain business.
