

The Department of Medicine at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck School of Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Administrator to manage the Division of Medical Oncology. The ideal candidate should be motivated to succeed, be an emotionally intelligent leader, be able to multi-task in a high-energy environment, produce high quality results, and maintain a welcoming and professional demeanor.
Under the direction of the Division Chief, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing clinical, administrative, financial, educational, and research operations for a very large and dynamic Division with multiple on campus and off-campus practice locations and a significant research portfolio.
The Medical Oncology Division is home to over 75 clinical faculty members that are involved in patient care at Norris/Keck Hospital, the LA County hospital, and locations in Arcadia, Buena Park/Koreatown, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Newport Beach, Pasadena, Santa Clarita, and Verdugo Hills. In addition to supporting the faculty, the Administrator hires, trains, and supervises a team of administrative staff positions and provides administrative support for programmatic, educational, and research staff as well as a team of genetic counselors. The Administrator oversees and manages about $30M in annual revenue.
As point person for the Division and a representative for the Department, this position requires excellence in communication and professionalism. Also vital is proactive planning, collaboration, and professional partnering with other Departments and institutions. Knowledge and skill requirements include clinical revenue cycle, managing multiple employees with varying skill sets, and a strong understanding of the academic medical center infrastructure and operational processes.
The position is Exempt and Hybrid-Flex
Salary Range:
The annual base salary range for this position is $104,973- $136,419. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.“
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Management experience in a multi-faceted or specialized medical environment. Knowledge of financial accounting and/or financial management.
Preferred Education: Master's degree
Preferred Experience: 8+ years in academic healthcare administration
Preferred Field of Expertise: Management of large, multi-faceted or specialized medical school environments with thorough knowledge of medical practice plan administration and financial accounting.
