SEO Specialist — Remote (Full-Time)
About the Role
Trademark Hardware, a US-based direct-to-consumer (DTC) company specializing in commercial door hardware, is seeking a dedicated SEO Specialist to lead organic search growth and recover Google Shopping visibility. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will own the SEO strategy end-to-end, working closely with the CEO and in-house web team.
Our website previously attracted ~2,000 daily visitors but has experienced significant traffic decline, including a major Google Shopping drop in mid-2025. Your mission is to diagnose, resolve, and reverse this trend to restore and grow our digital presence.
Key Responsibilities
Immediate Priorities (First 60–90 Days):
- Diagnose and resolve Google Merchant Center visibility issues, including the 50% drop in Shopping clicks.
- Correct product feed brand attribution (currently 97% listed as “Unknown”). Collaborate with web team (FinestShops X-Cart) to ensure accurate brand data.
- Audit and optimize top organic landing pages (6 pages with 7M+ impressions but low CTR). Improve titles, meta descriptions, schema, and internal linking.
- Improve rankings for high-volume category keywords (e.g., “door threshold,” “door seal,” “door weather stripping”) targeting page 1, top 5 positions.
Ongoing Work:
- Weekly SEO performance reporting (rankings, traffic, conversions).
- Continuous on-page optimization across category and product pages.
- Develop content strategy for buyer-intent and informational queries.
- Execute link-building campaigns with industry publications, contractor associations, and hardware blogs.
- Enhance technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, schema markup, site speed, mobile UX).
- Monitor Google Search Console and GA4, proactively addressing issues.
- Collaborate with web developers (FinestShops) and copywriters/blog team for technical and content improvements.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of SEO experience for ecommerce brands.
- Strong expertise in Google Merchant Center & Google Shopping (critical — will be tested).
- Proven track record in recovering Google Shopping visibility drops.
- Hands-on experience with Google Search Console (manual actions, indexing, performance).
- Fluency in Google Analytics 4, including custom reporting.
- Technical SEO expertise (schema markup, site speed, mobile UX, internal linking).
- On-page SEO mastery (title tags, meta descriptions, keyword research, content optimization).
- Familiarity with ecommerce platforms (X-Cart, Shopify, etc.).
- Strong written English skills for US-based audience.
- Self-directed, organized, proactive problem-solver.
