Job Summary
The Retail & Campground Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of Zion Mountain Ranch’s retail outlets and campground. This role is responsible for duties over-seeing the day-to-day operations of the Gift Shop, managing staffing, sales goals, and inventory.
The ideal candidate will implement green procurement guidelines, merchandise strategy for local native handicrafts and art, safety standards and quality of service. The person in this role motivates and inspires the team to drive sales and meet revenue goals. This position reports directly to the Administrative Manager. You will actively cultivate a safe, friendly, and fun work environment where outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship are embraced
This is a hands-on leadership position in dynamic indoor & outdoor environments. The ideal candidate is a strong operator, an engaged team leader, and someone who thrives in delivering memorable guest experiences.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Executes upon POWDR inventory activities, ensures and upholds pricing from marginal demands.
Oversees on the job inventory with team performing regular cycle counts of inventory to manage products sold.
Train and develop staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficiency.
Upholds and communicates ESQ (environmental, safety and quality standards) and accountability to ensure effective and efficient teamwork.
Manages labor, payroll, and expense to meet the annual budgetary goals.
Creative, captivating displays for inventory flow, feng shui techniques a bonus.
Works with leadership to promote marketing programs, sales and branding.
Manages POS functionality by ensuring accurate product set up, item tree display, discounting options, and operator security.
Works with management team to procure equipment, retail soft goods and accessories, and assists with logo apparel design process and branding.
Matches orders, reconciles invoicing and conducts monthly retail inventories.
Orchestrates the implementation of ESQ targets, objectives, and systems of monitoring and measuring set forth in company strategic plans, Merchandise Plan, etc.
Communicates closely with the management team in departmental meetings to articulate employee relations, performance management, hiring and recruitment, team development and training; Takes accountability for coaching, rewarding and communicating strengths and weaknesses and overall professional development across retail team.
Documents employee issues and manages based on policy and procedure.
Promotes overall enjoyable staff experience by implementing positivity and fun in daily operations.
Stocks goods, logs inventory counts into systems, retail operational activities and pricing
Matches and reconciles invoicing, orders and helps to complete monthly retail inventory activities
Trains and supervises staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficiency.
Comprehends and communicates workplace safety standards and accountability to ensure effective and efficient teamwork.
Supports payroll, and expense strategies to meet set budgets
Maintains displays for inventory flow
Learns and follows structure for company marketing programs, sales and branding.
POS functions with accuracy and competency
Support receiving of ordered equipment, retail soft goods and accessories, and assists with logo apparel design process and branding
Leads the staff with implementation of required targets, objectives, and systems of monitoring and measuring set forth in company strategic plans, Merchandise Plan, etc.
Documents employee issues accordingly based on policy and procedure and communicates with management and staff as trained.
Promotes overall enjoyable staff experience by implementing positivity and fun in daily operations.
Drives continual improvement and leads the team to deliver upon compliance, programs, scorecards, goals, and training requirements.
Conducts department Job Safety and Hazard Analysis with the team on a recurrent basis, documents it and engages the team in safety talks. Ensures team members participate and complete all required new hire training, recurrent training, emergency drills.
Campground Operations
Oversee day-to-day campground operations including reservations, site assignments, and guest services
Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
Partner with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address operational needs
Monitor occupancy, guest feedback, and overall campground performance
Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and environmental standards

Work Location:
Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, RV space with hook ups are available at no cost for employees and limited employee housing at no cost is available on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.
Due to the nature of our business, Zion Mountain Ranch is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
2+ years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, campground operations, or related field
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage teams and drive results
Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling tools preferred
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Strong communication and customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing attitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Must be comfortable using POS systems, handling cash, and processing transactions accurately.
Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
