POSITION TYPE: Permanent, 11-month, EHRA EPS (Exempt Professional Staff), FLSA Exempt, Mandatory/Essential On-site, 1.0 FTE
NCSSM and Student Services foster an environment of collaboration across departments and divisions and support community-engaged service and research.
Description of Duties:
This 11-month EPS position is a full-time, live-in position reporting to the Dean of Students or designee. Community Coordinators are provided with an unfurnished apartment. In addition, utilities (electric, water, and local phone), internet access, and access to fitness facilities are complimentary along with meals in the school cafeteria.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in residence life, education, recreational programming, and wellness as well as experience working with high school age populations. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with no serious driving-related convictions.

Community Coordinators serve “in loco parentis” for each student residing at NCSSM and, along with counselors, academic advisors, and parents/guardians, are an integral member of the student support team. In addition, Community Coordinators are the primary point of contact for students’ families and work closely with faculty and staff members across campus to support students. Community Coordinators are responsible for building community within their designated residence hall and serving as a primary resource for their residents. Community Coordinators predominantly work non-traditional hours either directly with students or on a rotating duty shift; evening and weekend work are required. Community Coordinators are considered mandatory employees for the following events: emergency closings; adverse weather; and public health emergencies.
