The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!
Description of Work
This position reports to the Director of Administrative Services and works with high level division and agency officials on a regular basis.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work is required, as well as the ability to change work priorities on short notice.
• Position will be involved with confidential division level initiatives and must be able to communicate accurately with stakeholders at all levels.
• The position provides office support functions such as creating documents to include letters, charts, reports and diagrams; performing research; gathering and compiling data; scheduling meetings; and communicating with a wide variety of individuals in person and by telephone or other electronic methods.
• This position requires excellent communication skills, and all work must be maintained in an easily retrievable manner.
• This position works independently and produces a high-quality product in all work assignments.
• Position utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook daily, and will be required to utilize the state Integrated HR/Payroll system successfully to research information and create reports.
• The ability to utilize other modern technology devices, programs and apps would be beneficial.
• Position is responsible for administrative motor vehicle management
• Maintain comprehensive and organized records management systems to support efficient retrieval of information by all users.

Minimum Education and Experience
