Information about the Program
Notes:
This is a Phlebotomist-Lab Aide Trainee Program.
-The candidate will have a “paid” position at the time of hire date. It is benefit eligible, after the appropriate waiting period.
-At the end of a successful program, there will be a variety of Phlebotomist-Lab Aide positions in various locations in the Puget Sound area (Puyallup, Tacoma, Olympia, Auburn, Covington, Gig Harbor).
The final Phlebotomist-Lab Aide positions once the program is completed are: Full time or part time day, nights or evening positions. There may also be .8fte and .6ftes available.
• -The candidate will have a “paid” position at the time of hire date. It is benefit eligible, after the appropriate waiting period.
• Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification. Registration certification: This will be started during the program. This will be worked on/obtained via the Training Program and in collaboration with MultiCare after your start date. This is at the cost of the employee, but will be reimbursed by MultiCare.
• The program is approximately 6-8 weeks:
• To apply for the MA-P during the training program.

Position Summary
The Phlebotomist Trainee is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients of all ages primarily in an acute care, and ambulatory setting under the supervision of a Phlebotomist. This position works closely with the laboratory and patient care teams. This position requires a service-oriented individual who can establish good, positive, and effective relations with all patients and staff, who has exceptional organization skills, pays attention to detail, and uses discretion and good judgment in decision-making. Internal contacts include MHS staff and management. External contacts include patients, patient’s families, and physicians

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.09 - $18.09 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
