Electric Power Research Center Director
Professional & Scientific
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience
Join a powerhouse of innovation at Iowa State University as the next Electric Power Research Center (EPRC) Director —a center that has fueled excellence in electric power systems for more than 60 years. Founded in 1962 to strengthen research, education, and industry collaboration, EPRC partners with utility companies and regional system operators to advance one of the nation’s leading Electric Power and Energy Systems (EPES) programs. This role continues that legacy by serving as a strategic ambassador for ISU power research—strengthening industry ties, shaping the future of workforce development, and guiding research that prepares engineers to address the most complex challenges facing today’s grid.
The EPRC Director will provide visionary leadership for all center operations, from managing research portfolios and securing external funding to cultivating industry memberships and developing impactful continuing education programs. This position drives high-value collaborations across universities, utilities, government agencies, and national organizations, while overseeing financial planning, strategic initiatives, and cutting-edge demonstrations and testbeds. If you’re energized by the opportunity to shape the future of electric power research and build meaningful partnerships that drive innovation, this role offers the platform to lead at the highest level.
