The Pace: We're building at a speed most companies talk about but never actually operate at. If you've been bored somewhere else, you won't be here.
The Impact: Every person at Giga touches the work that matters. No layers, no waiting for approval chains. You'll see your fingerprints on what we ship.
The Team: A team of operators defining the future of AI infrastructure. We recruit A-players from the most innovative companies in the world, and they choose Giga because the work here means more.
The Moment: AI doesn't run without power, and that's us. Giga is the picks and shovels behind the AI revolution. This industry is about to explode, and you'll be in the room where it's already happening.
What you’ll do
A data center isn't done when the last wall goes up — it's done when every system is proven to work, under load, exactly as designed. As a Commissioning Lead at Giga, you own that final mile. You'll lead end-to-end commissioning on mission-critical facilities from first energization through full system validation and owner handoff, working across MEP, electrical, and controls systems in some of the most complex buildings being constructed today. This is the role where the entire project comes together — or falls apart. You'll be the person in the field making sure it's the former: coordinating vendors, driving the Cx schedule, and signing off on systems that the world's most demanding AI workloads will depend on. If you want to be the last line between a construction project and a live data center, this is your seat.
Where you’ll work
This is an on-site position that requires long term travel and/ or short term relocation. This person should be comfortable with 3-6 month periods of being at a location before moving to the next.
Responsibilities
Lead all commissioning activities on assigned data center projects from pre-functional through integrated systems testing (IST) and final owner acceptance
Develop, own, and drive the commissioning schedule in coordination with the construction and project management teams, ensuring Cx activities are sequenced to support turnover milestones without rework
Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners during systems startup, functional testing, and performance verification across MEP, electrical, controls, and critical infrastructure systems
Write, review, and execute commissioning plans, test procedures, functional performance tests (FPTs), and integrated systems test scripts in alignment with owner project requirements (OPR) and basis of design (BOD)
Document all deficiencies identified during testing, track resolution to closure, and maintain a complete and accurate Cx record package for owner handoff
Serve as the primary field point of contact for commissioning-related RFIs, submittals, and technical issues, coordinating with the design team and project manager to resolve them without schedule impact
Conduct pre-functional inspections and verify installation compliance before initiating any system startup activities
Manage the punch list and systems turnover process through to certificate of occupancy and final acceptance, ensuring all commissioning deliverables are complete and in order
Requirements
5+ years of experience in commissioning, with 3+ years leading Cx on mission-critical, data center, or large-scale industrial construction projects
Demonstrated hands-on experience commissioning MEP and electrical systems including generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling infrastructure (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, cooling towers), and BMS/controls
Proven ability to develop and execute commissioning plans, FPT scripts, and IST procedures from scratch
Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and systems documentation including OPR, BOD, and as-built packages
Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and vendors simultaneously in an active construction environment
Ability to read and interpret single-line electrical diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and controls sequences of operation
Bonus points
Direct experience commissioning hyperscale or colocation data center facilities
Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), BCxA accreditation, or equivalent certification
Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or commissioning-specific platforms (e.g., Cx Alloy, FACTSuite)
Experience working on projects with accelerated schedules or in high-growth, startup environments

Who we hire
We hire people who thrive in chaos and get sharper under pressure. You don't wait to be told what to do, you spot the gap and fill it. When there's work to be done, you do it. You make decisions with the information you have, move fast, and adjust along the way. We're not looking for perfect; we're looking for people who get things done.
