Senior Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary: The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance and support across all areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, benefits, leave management, and talent acquisition. This role is responsible for managing complex HR matters, driving consistency in HR practices, and supporting organizational goals through effective people strategies. The Senior HR Generalist operates with a high level of autonomy and serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic HR partner to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes
Oversee benefits administration, including employee support, vendor coordination, and compliance with applicable regulations
Manage and provide expertise in FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and effective case management
Support and guide managers in performance management, coaching, and organizational effectiveness
Partner with Talent Acquisition on full-cycle recruitment efforts for assigned areas, including workforce planning and onboarding strategy
Maintain and ensure integrity of employee data within Workday, including reporting, audits, and process improvements
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, and recommend updates to policies and practices as needed
Identify trends and provide data-driven insights to leadership to support decision-making and improve employee engagement
Drive HR initiatives and projects, including process improvements, policy development, and employee experience enhancements
Manage a high volume of day-to-day HR activities, addressing a wide range of employee and business needs as they arise, while balancing competing priorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Strong experience in benefits administration, including employee support and vendor management
Advanced experience managing FMLA, ADA, and leave of absence cases
Demonstrated success handling complex employee relations issues and conducting investigations
Workday HRIS systems experience
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
Ability to influence and advise leadership on HR best practices
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
Experience in a multi-location or education environment a plus
