The medical librarian is responsible for the provision of all library services. These services are meant to support the medical, educational, informational, and research-related needs of the physicians, nurses, residents, pharmacists, medical technologists, nutritionist-dietitians, administrators, students, and all other hospital personnel. This position entails administrative duties, budget preparation, collection development, reference and library instruction services, and technical services. The medical librarian also collaborates interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital to promote library resources and services. The medical librarian complies with the standards set by an accrediting body for both healthcare facility and teaching hospital. The medical librarian upholds the values and participates in its institutional initiatives.

Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree in library or information science preferred
Experience
3-4 years librarian experience required
Medical librarian experience preferred
