About this Role:
We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Estimator to support the delivery of high-quality cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The Senior Cost Manager / Estimator is responsible for the development of conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates utilizing historical benchmarking data, market intelligence, and industry experience to deliver accurate and reliable project cost forecasts.
This role supports the execution of cost management services across a variety of project types and delivery methods, working closely with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and cost drivers. The Senior Cost Manager / Estimator is responsible for managing assigned projects, contributing to estimate development across all phases of design, and supporting cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
This position includes estimating execution, coordination with project stakeholders, and participation in quality assurance processes. The role also contributes to team development, client interaction, and continuous improvement of estimating practices. This position reports to senior leadership within the cost management team.
Develop cost estimates at all levels, including conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction documents
Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, and cost analysis for all major construction disciplines, including electrical scope where applicable
Support preparation of budgets, cost plans, and estimate reports for client deliverables
Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions, labor availability, productivity assumptions, and project-specific logistics
Coordinate with internal team members and other disciplines to ensure completeness and consistency of scope
Review project drawings and specifications to ensure accurate interpretation of scope and system requirements
Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and coordination issues across disciplines
Support constructability reviews and provide input on system integration and sequencing
Assist in evaluating cost and schedule impacts associated with design changes
Monitor project budgets and support cost control efforts throughout the design process
Analyze historical cost data and benchmarking information to validate estimate accuracy
Support change order evaluations and cost impact assessments.
Assist in identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
Communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to clarify scope and assumptions
Participate in project meetings, estimate reviews, and presentations as required
Support development of client relationships through consistent communication and responsiveness
Participate in QA/QC processes, including peer reviews and estimate reconciliation
Ensure deliverables meet company standards for accuracy, consistency, and documentation
Incorporate review comments and feedback into final deliverables in a timely manner
Maintain awareness of construction market conditions, including labor and material pricing trends
Assist in updating and maintaining internal cost databases and benchmarking tools
Support collection of pricing data from contractors, vendors, and industry sources
Work collaboratively with senior staff and project teams to deliver high-quality estimates
Provide guidance and support to junior estimators as needed
Contribute to internal process improvements and standardization efforts
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field or equivalent experience required
10-15 years of experience in cost estimating and preconstruction services required
Experience working on projects ranging from $5 million to $500+ million
Familiarity with estimating platforms such as Sage Timberline, MII, or similar tools
Working knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and UNIFORMAT.
Understanding of construction systems, including architectural, structural, civil, and MEP disciplines
Ability to perform quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates across multiple project phases
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications across all disciplines
Understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and installation practices
Experience with conceptual and early-stage estimating preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Travel as required for client arrangements, project reviews, and site visits
