Position Summary
The ITS Project Manager assumes responsibility for managing assigned programs and projects on a day-to-day basis, focusing on smaller-scale initiatives of moderate complexity. This position oversees project management for multiple small or medium priority projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives. The manager contributes to supporting and training in project management operations and practices. The Project Manager also shares responsibility with the Senior ITS Project Manager for the day-to-day management of assigned programs and projects. The role leads one or more high-priority or medium to high complexity projects, mission-critical enterprise-wide initiatives, and continuous business improvement items. The ITS Project Manager includes supporting and training in project management operations and practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates with IT PMO leadership to prioritize and assign work, ensure staff training, adherence to policies, and maintain a healthy work environment.
Focuses on meeting project commitments within budget and scope, including communication with sponsors and stakeholders.
Leads planning, execution, and monitoring of technical projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and budgets.
Collaborates with stakeholders, technical teams, and sponsors to define project scope, goals, plans, and schedules aligned with business objectives.
Coordinates training initiatives related to specific projects and oversees project development phases.
Manages technical project resources, assigns tasks, resolves conflicts, and collaborates with subject matter experts.
Identifies and mitigates technical risks and issues, tracking changes in project scope, budget, and schedule.
Facilitates communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
Provides regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and mitigation plans.
Adheres to enterprise methodologies, practices, and procedures for documentation, project management, and system monitoring.
Assesses risks and assists with risk mitigation, plans project timelines, coordinates resources, and tracks project changes.
Completes assigned tasks/projects on time, on budget, and in scope, coordinating with department managers when necessary.
Responsible for enterprise-wide projects, typically with large budgets and staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher
OR
At least six (6) years of related experience
The role requires a profound understanding of technical concepts, strong project management skills, and a track record of successfully delivering smaller-scale technical projects within budget and timelines.
PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred
Experience using ServiceNow SPM for project and portfolio management preferred
Experience working within a formal PMO environment preferred
Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies preferred
