YOUR ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES
Co-own (together with the respective Category Manager) the development and regular updates of the material category strategy for the assigned portfolio
Execute the defined category strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives
Monitor market conditions and key cost drivers (raw materials, labor costs, logistics and freight, currency exchange rates) and incorporate insights into the purchasing strategy
Continuously screen and scout the market to identify new domestic and overseas suppliers
Develop and implement supplier diversification and consolidation plans in line with the defined strategy
Organize and lead Business Reviews and Supplier Days; conduct meetings with key suppliers and top management representatives
Visit existing and potential new suppliers to review production processes and gain in-depth knowledge of products and technologies
Develop and implement strategies to achieve material performance targets within the assigned category
Prepare comprehensive negotiation strategies for each key supplier using structured preparation techniques
Negotiate terms and conditions, as well as all commercial agreements, to drive year-over-year material cost improvements
Ensure volume-change sourcing opportunities are addressed during supplier negotiations
Prepare and implement mitigation plans to manage and offset price increases
Collaborate with the Legal department on contract negotiations
Track supplier performance against targets, communicate gaps to targets, and define and execute GCP (Gap Closure Plan) actions
YOUR BACKGROUND
Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering
Proven experience in developing purchasing strategies and strategic planning
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in materials purchasing within Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive organizations, with a strong track record of achievements
Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication abilities
High level of interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Strong analytical capabilities and advanced presentation skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
Solid understanding of sustainability principles, ethical sourcing, and socially responsible sourcing strategies
Experience in managing RFQs and using purchasing tools and systems
Ability to prepare negotiation scenarios based on total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations
Good understanding of material cost modeling and should-cost analysis for assigned materials
Fluent in English
Experience with Power BI (preferred)
SAP user experience (preferred)
