

About the Role
We are seeking a suitably qualified site-based Project Quality Manager to ensure compliance to highest installation and construction standards on a substation/ data centre construction projects in Finland. To be clear, this is a site-based role, requiring daily presence on-site to ensure the selected Main Contractor complies with the Employers Requirements and all applicable codes and standards. It will involve, though not limited to, the promotion and continuous development of best practices, assistance in the generation of site required quality information, review of Contractors installation and quality documentation, participation in any investigations and reporting to the Corporate Quality Manager on any quality or non-conformance issues. The role will also require the fostering of a best practice culture for safety and quality among all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to manage and control the Main Contractors Scope of Works in the area of Quality Compliance to all applicable codes, standards, national and international regulatory requirements across all domains of Construction and Commissioning.
The tasks will include, but is not limited to:
Review the Project Quality Plan (PQP) submitted by the Principal Contractor and identify any gaps that require action.
Work with the Principal Contractor on compliance to the agreed PQP.
Regular audits of the Principal Contractors Compliance.
Planning specific Inspection and Tests with the Principal Contractor.
Attendance at specific Inspections and Tests.
Attendance at off-site facilities to witness applicable factory testing.
Identification of non-conformance and requests for remediation to the Principal Contractor.
Plan the inspection and testing works with the Principal Contractor to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to the Project Programme.
Responsibility to review the quality of all works with the Principal Contractors engineering partners that are involved in executing the project to ensure minimal installation disruption.
Maintain awareness of the commercial position of the project at all times, ensuring the appropriate and timely management of any non-conformance or quality issues.
Advise relevant senior management of any quality issues that may have a significant commercial impact on the project as soon as they become evident.
Actively participate in the safety management on the project, ensuring compliance with all legal and company procedures, and promoting a positive and proactive attitude to working safely at all levels.
Working according to the company’s ISO quality systems, ensuring all Project Engineering and construction activities meet the requirements of the project, including all appropriate specifications.
Ensure the correct production and appropriate filling of all project quality documentation.
Oversee the Principal Contractors applicable resources both onsite and offsite (where applicable), ensuring the submittal of the required quality documentation to ensure compliance to the projects contractual requirements.
Compile and issue all necessary weekly/monthly quality reports in line with company procedures.
Act as an ambassador for the company, always presenting the right image to existing and potential clients when it comes to the quality of works performed and assist senior management within the company to achieve enhanced commercial success across all divisions.
Always have a focus on the overall project. Always systematically make decisions considering the entire project.
Will not compromise safety or quality instead of schedule. The Quality Engineer will utilise the experience of the wider Company as and when required.
Must support the development of all project quality documentation/plans and support their implementation, including audits and toolbox talks on quality on-site.
Reporting internally and externally must be completed on time.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of site construction audits, inspections, tests, qualifications, competencies, and regulatory compliance documentation for both the Company and regulatory purposes. Have a daily electronic log of all construction and installation activities,
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Foster close working relationships with contractors, subcontractors, project managers and other stakeholders, ensure that quality standards and practices are understood, adopted, and followed consistently and integrated into all phases of construction and commissioning across the site.
