Part- time - Customer Service Representative – Outside Return Lane Specialist (Primary Outdoor Role)

U‑Haul is seeking a dependable, motivated individual for the position of Customer Service Representative – Outside Return Lane Specialist. This role is primarily focused on return‑lane operations, equipment inspections, and lot organization, with additional support inside the center as needed.

Primary Responsibilities – Outside (Return Lane & Lot Operations)
Greet customers in the return lane and guide them safely into position.
Perform Level 1 return inspections, including mileage, tires, fuel, lights, and fluid checks, and minor equipment repairs.
Clean, prep, and stage trucks and trailers for the next rental.
Move, park, and organize U‑Haul equipment with accuracy and awareness.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient return area throughout the day.
Use U‑Scan technology to process returns and upload required photos.
Fold pads, secure dollies, and return all equipment to proper storage zones.
Assist with traffic flow during peak times to prevent bottlenecks.
Participate in ongoing training through U‑Haul University.
Secondary Responsibilities – Inside Support
When assisting inside the center, you may be responsible for:
Using the CSF application to:
Rent storage units
Sell moving supplies and merchandise
Create and manage reservations
Supporting customer service needs inside the store
Preparing rental contracts
Answering customer questions about products and services
Other responsibilities as needed to support the full operation of the facility
Supporting hitch installation, trailer wiring, propane filling, and forklift operation, where applicable (training and certification provided)

Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more
Reliable, mature, and responsible work ethic
Strong communication and customer‑service skills
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain situational awareness
Work Environment
This role is primarily outdoors, working around moving vehicles, equipment, and machinery. Safety gear such as gloves, goggles, or masks may be required. You will be active throughout the day, moving between the return lane, lot, and staging areas.

Moving and handling equipment up to 50 lbs. (assisted or unassisted)
