We are seeking a motivated individual to fill a critical, multi‑faceted role supporting both the operations of the Global Sustainability Office and the delivery of firm‑wide sustainability program initiatives.
Working closely with colleagues across the Global Sustainability team and wider organisation, the role will help design, shape, and lead activities as the function and program evolve. It will act as a key connector, within the team and across stakeholders, supporting work spanning strategy, governance, and reporting, including engagement with colleagues in Internal Communications and other partners.
The ideal candidate will:
bring a structured and analytical approach, with a foundational understanding of State Street’s strategy, business model and operations; and
be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support coordination and execution of sustainability initiatives, such as the annual Corporate Sustainability Report, ensuring assigned tasks are managed and delivered timely to a high standard, and that issues are effectively communicated. Initiatives may span across the Global Sustainability team as well as other functions and require coordinated delivery of analysis, meeting materials, policies, procedures, and reports.
Act as a liaison with senior management, project teams and other internal and external stakeholders on sustainability related topics.
Actively collaborate and facilitate sustainability discussions with different departments such as sustainability, finance, data, regulatory affairs, product, and business teams as well as external partners.
Assist with sustainability governance administration, including logistics, charter development and secretariat activities (e.g. preparing materials and minutes) for relevant sustainability committees and other oversight groups.
Lead coordination of responses to sustainability governance related requests.
Assist with the Sustainability Program reporting including tracking of sustainability projects and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and/or Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Provide insights on best practices for sustainability, operations, governance and program management including associated documentation.
Contribute to development and implementation of the Global Sustainability Office processes (including team meetings, engagement with cross-functional partners, sharepoint, and finance as well as procurement processes).
Ownership and maintenance of the sustainability intranet hub.
Ensure the highest standard of documentation is maintained to meet the requirement of internal and external auditors / assurance providers.

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelors degree in finance, economics, or related filed.
2+ years in reporting, project management or governance (preferably in financial services, consulting and/or ESG/climate focused), or a related field.
Strong analytic skills.
Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with ability to manage competing priorities with a strong awareness and mitigation of risk.
Desirable:
Understanding of Sustainability/ESG topics and how they impact on financial institutions and/or Sustainability/ESG/Climate reporting experience.
Knowledge of the emerging global Sustainability/ESG regulatory landscape, especially in the US and the EU (e.g. CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy).
Experience in financial services.
Project management experience.
Salary Range:
$65,000 - $113,750 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
