

We are hiring an Account Clerk to join our TeksMed team in Chilliwack, BC!
The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Controller. The main responsibilities are to provide accounting support to TeksMed Services Inc and related companies in collaboration with the operations and administration team. These duties include managing and monitoring collection calls, filing and data entry of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), verifying and processing payments in a timely manner, posting transactions, answering requests from the business, reconciling the banks and bookkeeping duties. The responsibilities include greeting clients either in person or over the phone and directing their needs appropriately.
Prepares monthly billings to clients
Makes adjustments to invoices as necessary
Initiates collection calls to delinquent accounts, as well as creating and submitting the client aged report every Monday starting on the 5th of each month to the Executive Team and Client Care
Maintains frequent contact with internal and external customers in order to address all collection issues
Performs in-depth customer payment analysis to properly record actions required to resolve disputed items
Receive daily customer payments, prepare reports and bank deposit as well as do the bank runs
Receive and post check, credit card and EFT payments from Clients
Filing Accounts Receivables & Accounts Payables
Reconcile and balancing of bank accounts
Performs related duties as assigned as well as with the TeksMed group of companies
Monitor and purchase applicable office supply inventory located in the supply room and in the kitchen
Effective oral and written communication skills
Provide operational administrative assistance when required
Continually learn functions of accounting as requested by the Controller
Gather, code, enter, approve and reconcile AP using software to record information such as Sage Accounting, Rosent / Clearview and MS Excel
Verify, prepare and issue all TMS and related companies vendor invoices for AP, with the use of Sage 50 Accounting in the required timeframe
Calculate, verify, prepare, and receive approval for the issuance of cheques and online payments for vendor payables
Prepare AP and outstanding issue reports to the Controller as required
Enter, post and print payroll cheques or direct deposit postings as required
Prepare GST, PST, Source Deductions, WCB & WSIB remittances
Maintain good business relationship with all TMS’s and related companies’ vendors and clients by answering calls and inquiries in a timely manner, ensuring accurate information provided and reconciliation of problems
Proven time management skills, and the ability to prioritize
Ability to deal with sometime challenging and stressful environments
Able to communicate effectively with internal and external TMS associates by presenting a professional and positive attitude
Willingness to take on responsibilities, be self-motivated, and continuously learning
Understanding of the core accounting functions including the accounting cycle, trial balances, and general ledgers
Comprehend the accounting practices, procedures, and controls of TMS
Strong ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into a computer database
Understand the functions of administrative management including maintenance of filing systems
Operating knowledge of fax, printer, photocopier and other business equipment
Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe, Intelex, Kiwili and Rosnet
Be resourceful and solve problems by identifying suitable approaches and solutions with an ability to be proactive and “think outside the box

Salary Range
The base salary for this position is between $45,000 - 55,000 annually.
This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). The actual base salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
