We are looking for a detail oriented Debtors Accountant to perform key accounting and debtor management activities, including financial data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting, while ensuring adherence to sound financial practices and regulatory requirements.
Perform professional accounting work, including compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. The role requires an understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in bookkeeping. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: ledgers and preparation of journal entries, fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, cost accounting, bank account reconciliation.
Responsibilities
Financial Management and Control of Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and Debtors Recoveries
Reconciliation of FAR between the ledger and finance system (track and reconcile any variances)
Track depreciation progress against budgets within established finance systems, and report variances to more senior colleagues.
Prepare and issue debtors recovery invoices in line with agreed SLA’s
Data Collection and Analysis
Produce and maintain accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
Update and maintain the insurance report annually.
Data Management
Help others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
Insights and Reporting
Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
Document Preparation
Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.
Information and Business Advice
Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.2
Financial Policies, Guidelines, Protocols and Operational Compliance
Assist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice in line with OML.
Operational Compliance
Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure. Respond to and follow through on audit queries, audit findings and implementation of corrective actions.
Personal Capability Building
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12
5+ years’ experience in similar role.
Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft and ---------.
