KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Surgical & Procedural Support
Inpatient & Perioperative Care
Patient Communication & Experience
Documentation & Compliance
Care Coordination & Orders
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Additional Responsibilities, As-Needed
Conduct billable telehealth and phone consultations
Provide after-hours phone coverage and clinical decision-making
Participate in cross-coverage for other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Assist with clinical support activities to ensure continuity of care
Participate in community events and educational initiatives
Provide medical expertise in outreach programs
Promote orthopedic health awareness and education
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
2+ years Physician Assistant in an office-based or related outpatient setting or hospital-based setting
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
3-5 years experience
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight. Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight (20 to 50 lbs).
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor area with frequent exposure. Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.
HAZARDS OSHA
OSHA Category 1.Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's. Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.
EDUCATION PREFERRED
Master's, Physician Assistant.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIRED
Physician Assistant,Florida. BLS. Current Florida State registration. Infection Control Certificate must be current. Must have taken child abuse recognition course.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE PREFERRED
Current NCCPA Certificate - 100 hours of continuing medical education must be logged every 2 years. Recertification Examination must be taken every 6-10 years and passed successfully.
