

Inside the Role
The Detroit Aftertreatment OBD Engineering team develops and validates diagnostic strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across Daimler Truck’s heavy-duty powertrain portfolio. We rigorously develop and validate OBD monitors to support certification readiness, working closely with cross-functional and international teams to deliver globally competitive solutions while meeting local legislative requirements. In addition to core technical responsibilities, the role includes driving test and report automation initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and data-driven decision-making.

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
Master of Science or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited University).
Ability to develop Powertrain control strategies
3+ years of Powertrain development experience.
Understand and speak German language.
