

The Global Tax Team is in search of an experienced Senior Tax Specialist! In this role, you will bridge the gap between indirect tax compliance and financial systems, ensuring our global transactional data is accurate and our tax technology stack operates seamlessly.
System & Tax Engine Management: Work with indirect tax determination engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, ONESOURCE) and their integration with our core ERP system.
Data Automation & Analytics: Implement automation tools to extract, transform, and validate massive volumes of transactional data to support global VAT, GST compliance.
Compliance Oversight: Oversee the accurate and timely completion of global indirect tax returns, reviewing automated outputs and supporting schedules for accuracy before filing.
E-Invoicing & Real-Time Reporting: Monitor global trends in Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC), SAF-T, and e-invoicing mandates, leading the technological implementation required to meet these new reporting standards.
Process Improvement: Recommend, design, and implement automated workflows to eliminate manual data entry, enhance data integrity, and streamline the end-to-end indirect tax compliance process.
ERP Tax Configuration: Provide dedicated tax technology support when setting up tax compliance in new jurisdictions, configuring tax codes, mapping product taxability, and testing ERP updates.
Audit & Defense Support: Support indirect tax audits by generating standard audit files, building transactional data extracts, and tracing system logic for external tax authorities.
Risk & Anomaly Detection: Identify tax determination errors, data gaps, or system ineffectiveness based on financial records, and implement root-cause system fixes.
Calendar & Liability Management: Manage global indirect tax compliance calendars, reconcile indirect tax accounts, and coordinate timely tax payments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, local financial controllers, and external vendors to develop and standardise the Group's indirect tax data methodologies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of work experience in indirect tax compliance (VAT/GST) and tax technology/systems implementation within an international company or consulting firm.
Certifications: Professional certification (CPA, Master in Taxation) or relevant technology/system certifications strongly preferred.
Technology Stack: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Workday) and third-party tax engines (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, ONESOURCE). Experience with data wrangling tools (Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau) is highly desirable.
Subject Matter Expertise: Deep understanding of global indirect tax principles and modern digital reporting trends (e.g., EU ViDA, SAF-T, LATAM e-invoicing models, US Wayfair nexus).
Global Exposure: Experience managing indirect tax operations across diverse regions (e.g., Latin America, South East Asia, India, EU, USA) is a significant advantage.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and project management skills; ability to translate complex tax rules into system logic.
Work Style: A self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced, high-volume data environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Language: Great command of English (Advanced).
