Turbine Systems MBU have an exciting opportunity of a Senior Planning & Control Manager role in Derby with accountability for Turbine Blade Casting Plants (PCF and ABCF) and ALM. This role is a key leadership position within the Manufacturing cluster as part of a high-performing, cross functional team.
The Senior Planning & Control Manager will be responsible for leading Planning & Control activities across PCF, ABCF and ALM Manufacturing Plants to ensure that delivery performance expectations are achieved, inventory is optimised and the business complies with material control policies. You will lead the Planning & Control teams to maximise value to the business, develop their competency and drive process excellence
What you will be doing:
The Senior Planning & Control Manager will apply a Lean mindset to both Planning & Control processes and Manufacturing Planning to reduce waste and optimise delivery to customer from available resources. You will have accountability for ensuring an optimised plan across the Plants in terms of loadshare and resource with appropriate risk mitigation defined to maximise opportunity for success:
Deliver Performance
Coordinate the Sales and Operations planning process for the Plants
Accountable for inventory budget and forecast
Ensure that Inventory and Slow-Moving WIP plans are delivered and reflect year-on-year improvement in stock turns
Propose and review excess inventory, including independent requirement demand
Ensure any recommended inventory (including buffering) is understood, planned, approved and controlled
Manage Planning & Control related change for the Plant commodities
Provide input into the commodity strategy and make/buy decisions, helping shape the 'blueprint' for our supply chain
Working with the Programme Management team, ensure modifications/changes are understood, planned and controlled appropriately, product Introduction milestones and supporting actions are achieved.
Develop, manage and control logistics processes
Develop, coach and lead Planning & Control team members
