Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Safety Sensitive Position: Yes
Summary:
Responsible for performing preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery to ensure the continuous production of high-quality film while maintaining all safety work standards.
Essential Job Functions:
The ability to work safely using required PPE, as well as ensuring all production equipment is in a safe working manner
Must be able to work safely and follow all work instructions, safety rules, and policies
Multi-Craft technician with the objective of continuous improvement in areas including safety, quality, and production
Ability to work as an “on call” technician in a rotation
Ability to work overtime with little or no notice depending on machine unplanned events
Willing and able to assist in breakdowns and repairs including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical applications as needed
Willing and capable of working on more advanced technical applications
Willing and capable of installing equipment and any utilities needed for equipment, including conduit bending and wire pulling
Willing to work on projects assigned by the Plant Maintenance Manager
Must be driven and show initiative to start tasks without being told
Follow all inventory control guidelines and inventory management procedures
Willing to train fellow team members
Complete electrical safety training per New Hire Checklist (FCD-00382)

Qualifications and Requirements:
Must possess a strong knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting to include single and three phase applications
Must possess knowledge of OSHA standards and NEC guidelines in compliance with NFPA 70
Working knowledge of all plant production equipment
Must be able to read and troubleshoot using electrical and mechanical schematics
Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming protocols to include software for ControlLogix 5000, SLC 500, and PLC 5 programmable controllers
Working knowledge of drive systems and drive system software.
Knowledge of AC and DC motor systems including VFD control and troubleshooting
Must possess an above average knowledge of mechanical systems including gearbox maintenance, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and motor/gearbox/pulley alignment standards
Must possess practical and working knowledge of all utility systems including chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen generation, and electrical supply switchgears
Essential Physical Requirements:
The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time); if over 50 lbs., requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift
Must be able to stand, sit and walk up to 100% of workday
Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body up to 100% of workday
Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday
Talking to communicate with others for as much as 100% of workday
Hearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
Using arms to grasp, handle, lift, carry, pull push, and reach for as much as 75% of workday
Walking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product
Work Environment:
This position requires that the employee be able to work:

Language Skills:
Must be able to read and write in English
Education and Experience:
Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Technical School degree
Minimum 5 years proven job experience
Knowledge & Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
Proficient in computer knowledge such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
