

SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for assisting in all facets of building and grounds maintenance for the Prairie Island Indian Community as directed by the Public Works Manager, under direction of the Director of Public Works & Infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Professional and respectful communication skills
Good written and organizational skills
Basic computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to work varied hours when necessary
Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to work well within the existing team and government structure
Sensitive to Native American Culture
Must pass drug screen (UA) and a criminal background check
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS *
Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Must have ability to operate farm equipment, tools, plows, and trucks
Must be physically fit to do heavy type farm work.
Must be able to walk, stand or sit for long periods throughout the day
Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
Must be able to bend and crouch frequently
Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
