Your role
As a Freelance GIS Specialist, you will work on challenging client projects in sectors such as utilities, infrastructure, public sector, logistics, and asset management. Depending on the assignment, you may be involved in analysis, design, implementation, or optimization of GIS solutions.
Typical responsibilities include:
Designing, configuring, and maintaining GIS solutions
Working with geospatial data models, databases, and integrations
Developing and optimizing GIS applications and workflows
Supporting clients with spatial analysis, visualization, and reporting
Collaborating with architects, developers, and functional consultants
Contributing to workshops, assessments, or proof-of-concept activities
Your profile
We are looking for freelancers who bring both technical depth and consulting mindset:
Strong experience as a GIS Specialist or GIS Developer
Hands-on knowledge of tools such as ArcGIS (Pro / Enterprise), QGIS, PostGIS, or similar
Familiarity with system integrations (e.g. ERP, asset management, or other enterprise platforms) is a plus
Comfortable working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Able to communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders
Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is a strong advantage
