Education:
Ms. Park postgraduate education and training, under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Lansky at the Yale Cardiovascular Research Group, will concentrate on cardiovascular imaging methodologies and analysis for academic research. The core laboratory has many ongoing clinical research studies, with a primary focus on cardiovascular clinical research in the fields of coronary, peripheral and heart failure. She will receive training in performing and reviewing qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient imaging films in the Echo Core Lab, the Angiographic Core Lab, and the Vascular Core Lab.
Training:
Ms. Park will receive hands-on training in angiographic interpretation, problem film management and laboratory coordination. She will perform morphologic and quantitative analysis of angiographic coronary and peripheral clinical trials and will be responsible for the review of study imaging and media and will be trained on quality control steps. She will develop project management abilities by overseeing different facets of research projects, present academic work in seminars, participate in regular progress review meetings, and strategize to overcome challenges and meet project goals. Moreover, she will contribute to the design and execution of prospective studies, fostering a solid foundation in clinical research and imaging.
Ms. Park will develop core competencies in clinical research operations and project management. She will coordinate multiple aspects of ongoing research studies, including data tracking, regulatory compliance, and communication across multidisciplinary teams. Participation in regular progress review meetings and laboratory discussions will enhance her ability to critically assess scientific data, troubleshoot challenges, and implement effective solutions. She will also present her research findings in formal seminar settings, strengthening her scientific communication and presentation skills
This comprehensive training plan is designed to align closely with Ms. Park’s educational and career objectives of attending medical school and pursuing a career in cardiology with a focus on clinical research. The program will equip her with the analytical, technical, and professional skills necessary to successfully transition to medical training and ultimately contribute to advancements in cardiovascular patient care through rigorous clinical investigation.
Mentoring:
Ms. Park will be mentored by Dr. Alexandra Lansky through weekly one-on-one meetings and other frequent communications and interactions. She will also be mentored by other faculty, post-doctoral associates, and collaborators of the Yale Cardiovascular Research Group.
