As a member of Japan Financial Planning and Analysis team, this position is responsible for managing budget, forecast, reporting, and operational and/or process deployment aspects of Professional Services (PS) group, and is expected to turn analytics into actions that can drive improved PS performance, productivity and profitability
Key Areas of Responsibility
Partner closely with PS Group in building annual business plan and monthly financial outlooks
Track and report on actual results and provide variance analysis on key metrics, and recommend and implement corrective actions as required to improve performance
Measure Professional Services business effectiveness by reporting on a core set of financial, operational and people-related metrics
Support PS practices in Project Accounting and related GL activities, e.g. Loss on Contract, Purchase Order support, Fixed Asset accounting, GL entries: Accruals/Deferrals/Releases and other GL interface analysis
Assist in the development, deployment and customization of global processes, systems, tools and metrics to facilitate management of local region PS resources.
Drive operational efficiencies by identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost optimizations.
Ensure compliance with Japanese financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance policies
Basic Requirements
3+ Years of financial analysis, planning, or related operational experience
Solid Microsoft Office applications skills with heavy emphasis on MS Excel
Ability to manage multiple-tasks and work effectively with cross-functional teams
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related areas with business orientation
Experience working in international business environments
Fluent in Japanese and English
Preferred Requirements
5-7 Years of financial analysis, planning, or related operational experience
Master’s in business administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certification in Management Accounting (CMA) a plus
Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse querying and reporting
