

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Responsible for rendering quality & professional services to patients within the hospital. Such services are practice according to the Policies and Procedures of the hospital.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
CLINICAL:
Queue number
Key in patient’s MRN in KCIS for repeat patient & investigations, if any
Assess condition of patient / record patient’s vital signs
Upon receives patient’s record, checks to ensure that correct patient’s record is delivered and updates patient’s particular e.g., house/ mobile number, address and etc.
Maintains cleanliness of clinic working areas e.g., doctor’s table, registration counter, dressing trolley etc.
Assists doctor during examination / procedure when required e.g., dressing, assists patient to examination couch and etc.
Assists doctor to fill up relevant investigation’s forms / key in KCIS. Directs / escorts / wheels patients to the respective services. Collects results when ready and shows doctor.
Ensures all items used for examination / procedures are charged in Tagging Charge Slip.
Once doctor has reviewed patient, writes date of appointment for review & explains to patient the next review date & time.
Accompanies / directs patient to Billing Services & remind patient to collect medication from Pharmacy, if any;
Ensures all patients’ results are filed accordingly before dispatch to Medical Record Services.
Key in all appointment. Inform patients & adjust appointment if doctor is on leave.
Upon confirmation for operation, keys in schedule operations in computer system. Dispatches schedule operation / procedure patients’ record to Admission clerk the day before.
Compiles monthly statistic and submit to Head of Service on last working day of every month.
To perform any other duties as and when directed/required by Head of Service / Unit Manager
Establishes and develops effective communication with all disciplines, patients and relatives, to achieve optimal patient’s satisfaction.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
Uphold & maintain the 5 Core values – Safety, Courtesy, Integrity, and Professionalism & Continuous Improvement.
To participate in quality activities such as ICC, Suggestions Scheme. IMS and any other related activities conducted in the hospital.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
Takes personal responsibility for own professional development and keeps up to date with professional, changes and growth.
Involves in the supervision of new / junior staff, including the student nurses who are posted to the unit for their clinical experience and assists them to achieve their objective of the clinical attachment.
Assists Head of Services in appraising the job performance new / junior staff.
Supports and assists Head of Services in making the most effective and efficient use of staff, supplies and services.
EQUIPMENTS AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES:
Checks equipment daily to ensure in good working condition and report to Head of Services for any malfunction.
Operates and maintains specialized equipment in the clinic. Provides assistance / guidance to new / junior staff in the usage.
Assists Head of Services in keeping accurate records of equipment and medical supplies.
Assists maintenance of instruments and equipment by proper cleaning, handling, sterilizing and utilizing as directed.
Responsible for checking sterile items’ expiry dates & maintains adequate supply of stock.
OTHERS:
To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;

To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer.
To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced.
Ensure compliance of patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
Ensure the policies on Patient and Family’s Rights are addressed at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum: SPM
Preferred: Relevant experience related to nursing Computer literate

Has good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to guide new / junior staff. Possess the attitude to make the patient care the primary concern, treating every patient compassionately, demonstrating and an aspiration to altruism. Seek to treat patients maintaining patient’s dignity, privacy, autonomy and confidentiality. Prepare to work as a team member in the manner for the best.
