

Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer for our First Quality Tissue SE, LLC located in Anderson, SC. This position will identify key barriers to continuously improve machine reliability through root cause analysis, training, maintenance projects, preventative maintenance planning and develop and manage the Converting Roll Program.
Primary responsibilities include:
Promote an action-oriented safety culture embracing safety as a core value, instilling and exemplifying a safety mindset for all team members resulting in an incident free workplace.
Develop and Maintain Roll Management Program to include Organizing Documentation, Drawings, Specifications, Managing Change-outs & Rebuilds ensuring FQT Specifications and schedules are met to ensure reliable operation and availability
Work with Maintenance management to develop annual goals that support Reliability & Maintenance KPI’s.
Lead and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Develop procedures and recommendations for permanent elimination of problems.
Develop and implement standards-based repair procedures, job plans, documenting repairs, developing and implementing OEM standards.
Identify, plan and implement small projects to improve the inherent reliability of equipment.
Be involved in design, engineering, and manufacturing of maintenance projects and take the lead in communicating project status with all stakeholders using proper FQ documentation tool (MOC).
Support Outages, equipment installations, startups, and validations.
Support the Maintenance/Controls Techs as needed in troubleshooting issues on the converting lines.
Mentor, train, and develop maintenance teams on new techniques, maintenance processes, nsuretegories met and procedures on engineered changes.
Participate in maintenance team on-call duty rotation.
Manage contractors to ensure work is completed to design and FQ specifications.
Certify all precision maintenance work and manage all respective documentation.
Support and participate in planning and scheduling meetings.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred in a high speed manufacturing environment.
Previous experience with converting rolls – roll coverings, hardness, set ups, etc. required.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as MP2, SAP, and/or EAM preferred.
Advanced knowledge of technology and mechanics.
Knowledge of product specifications, quality specifications, goals, efficiency, scrap and production.
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a team-based environment
Advanced computer skills, proficiency with MS Office
Strong Mechanical Aptitude including Bearing installation, Shaft/journal repairs, Clearances/fits, use of Pi Tape, Micrometers, etc.
Frequent standing/walking.
Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching overhead throughout shift.
Occasional pushing and pulling with arms, legs, and body throughout shift.
Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Frequent repetitive use of hands.
Occasional simple/light firm/strong grasping with the hands.
