Why this role matters
The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing, providing specialised support to address immediate safety needs and assist victim survivors on their recovery journey.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to deliver outreach case management support to adult and child victim survivors who have experienced or are currently experiencing family violence. This role will play a key part in delivering high-quality, safe and effective family violence and child wellbeing responses, ensuring participants feel supported, empowered and safe.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position (contracted for 12 months), part-time arrangements (0.8 FTE) will be negotiable. This position is located in Frankston, VIC.
Conditions
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.
How you will make an impact
Build effective, empowering relationships with clients that uphold the National Family Violence Model of Care
Provide case management support in line with TSA case management models and standards of practice
Conduct ongoing assessment of client needs, risks and circumstances from intake to exit
Develop and implement individual case plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring interventions meet their goals
Assist clients to access holistic supports, community connections and advocacy with service providers
Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and data in accordance with TSA standards
What you will bring
A tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field
Demonstrated experience in case management within family violence or related community services
Understanding of family violence frameworks, risk assessment and trauma-informed practice
Advanced computer skills, including experience with data and record management systems
A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
An Employee Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
