Civil are strengthening our enterprise resilience capability to ensure the business can effectively prevent, respond to, and recover from major operational and cyber-related incidents.
The IPT Lead - Resilience will lead and drive resilience due diligence activities across Civil Aerospace, identifying capability gaps and implementing practical, business-aligned resilience solutions with an immediate focus on cyber incident readiness.
This role will establish and embed a scalable resilience framework across the business, ensuring operational continuity, improved incident preparedness, and alignment to enterprise resilience standards and strategic priorities.
The role will work cross-functionally across Civil Aerospace, partnering with operational leaders, Cyber/IT, Safety, and Business Continuity teams to build a resilient organisation, business processes and supporting systems capable of responding effectively to disruption.
This is a highly visible transformation and delivery role requiring strong stakeholder leadership, programme management capability, and enterprise thinking.
Key Accountabilities
Cyber Incident Readiness
Lead the Civil Aerospace cyber resilience readiness programme with an initial focus on major cyber incident preparedness
Develop coordinated business response and recovery capabilities for cyber-related disruptions
Partner with Cyber Security, IT, and operational teams to improve incident response capability and organisational preparedness
Ensure recovery plans and response frameworks are operationally aligned, tested, and embedded
Business Resilience Strategy & Delivery
Lead the development and implementation of the Civil Aerospace Business Resilience framework and roadmap
Conduct resilience due diligence activities across business areas to identify operational, cyber, process, and recovery capability gaps
Define and implement action plans to close identified resilience gaps across the organisation
Establish practical resilience mechanisms aligned to Minimum Viable Company (MVC) principles and business recovery requirements
Drive implementation of resilience playbooks, response frameworks for each CALT Lead, and operational recovery models
Programme Leadership & Governance
Lead cross-functional resilience workstreams and integrated programme activities across Civil Aerospace
Establish governance, reporting, prioritisation, and tracking mechanisms for resilience initiatives
Facilitate resilience workshops, risk reviews, simulation exercises, and recovery testing activities
Provide updates, recommendations, and investment proposals to senior leadership and CALT stakeholders
Ensure resilience priorities remain aligned to strategic business objectives and enterprise policies
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
Build strong relationships across operational, engineering, technology, and functional teams
Drive awareness and adoption of resilience principles across the organisation
Support the development of a proactive resilience culture focused on prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery
Influence senior stakeholders across Civil Aerospace to embed resilience thinking into business processes and decision-making
Continuous Improvement & Benchmarking
Ensure alignment with internal governance, regulatory requirements, and external best practice
Benchmark resilience capability against enterprise standards and industry expectations
Capture lessons learned from incidents, exercises, and recovery activities to drive continuous improvement
Key Experiences and Qualifications
A Senior Leader with strong Enterprise or Civil business knowledge, looking to apply their experience to a strategically important resilience and business continuity programme
Experience and exposure in and across the Civil/ Rolls-Royce Value Stream, and/or in business continuity, in complex project roles, preferably within aerospace or highly regulated environments
Strong understanding of business process mapping and organisational recovery planning
Strong project management skills, credible system thinker, experienced change manager
Enterprise thinker, with excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Good understanding of existing business processes. Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence at all levels
Proactive, curious and preventative/pro-active mindset, analytical, high initiative taker, and adaptable approach to problem-solving. Comfortable operator in complex environment
