Overview
Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, and the medical direction of the Emergency Department Physician. Is responsible for providing assistance to physicians and RNs in the delivery of patient care to include invasive and non-invasive procedures: EKG's, IVs, phlebotomy. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient served in assigned department. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Collects data reflective of the patient's status and assist with the interpretation of appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age specific needs as described in the departmental policy and procedural guide. Emergency Technician will fill in as the monitor tech as needed.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Advanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic Only Upon Hire(Required) or
Military Experience - US Military Equivalent military experience in lieu of EMT certification will be accepted (i.e., medical technician or corpsmen) Upon Hire(Required) and
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
