What you will have an opportunity to do:
Banquet Server | Marriott Colorado Springs
There is something special about the moment a banquet comes together. The room is set, the linens are crisp, the centerpieces are in place, and the team is ready. In a few minutes, guests are going to walk through those doors for a wedding, a gala, a corporate milestone, or a celebration that has been months in the making. And the experience they have from that moment forward depends almost entirely on you.
We are looking for a highly motivated, guest-focused Banquet Server to join our team at the Marriott Colorado Springs. If you are someone who takes genuine pride in delivering exceptional service, thrives in a fast-paced team environment, and understands that the details you bring to every table are what turn an event into a memory, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Banquet Server, you are not just delivering food and drinks. You are an essential part of creating an experience that guests will talk about long after the event is over. You will be involved in every phase of the banquet operation, from setting the room before the first guest arrives to breaking it down after the last one leaves, with everything in between done to the highest standard of hospitality.
This role requires someone who moves with purpose, communicates with confidence, and genuinely cares about the people sitting at their tables. Whether you are serving a plated dinner for three hundred, setting up a morning break station, or pivoting mid-event because something changed, you bring the same level of care, professionalism, and positive energy to every moment.
This is also a tremendous opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry at a world-class property. The skills you build in banquet service, synchronized timing, food and beverage knowledge, guest communication, and high-volume execution, are some of the most transferable in the industry. If you are looking to build something real in hospitality, banquets is one of the best places to do it.
Please note that this position requires a minimum of 5 shifts per quarter to maintain active employment status. This is an event-driven role and scheduling is based on the property's banquet calendar.
What You'll Be Doing
Setting up banquet and event rooms to the exact specifications of each event order, including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing beverages, and placing centerpieces
Setting up AM and PM break stations including coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages to the standard set by banquet leadership
Performing food and beverage preparation duties including preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring all workstations are properly stocked before service begins
Picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays safely to the function location, and serving food and beverages to guests with professionalism and care
Conducting a final quality check on all food and beverage items before they reach the guest table
Explaining menu items to guests including preparation methods, ingredients, and cooking techniques with confidence and enthusiasm
Taking into careful consideration any special requests or dietary needs communicated by guests and ensuring those needs are met without exception
Monitoring assigned tables throughout the event for guest satisfaction, food quality, and additional service needs, addressing any concerns promptly and with genuine care
Clearing tables efficiently and discreetly, removing dishes, glassware, silverware, and other items and returning them to the kitchen
Cleaning and sanitizing tables, counters, and seating areas after guests have finished
Breaking down event rooms at the conclusion of functions, including bussing tables, putting away linens and centerpieces, and vacuuming
Cleaning and organizing the back hall and storerooms to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
Assisting with event room resets and adjustments as needed based on meal period and table requirements
Providing warm, sincere welcomes and genuine farewells to every guest you interact with
Interacting with culinary, stewarding, and event staff in a professional and collaborative manner
Maintaining constant awareness of safety conditions throughout the event space, including broken glass, equipment issues, spills, and any other hazards, and reporting them immediately
Providing assistance to other event and restaurant staff as needed throughout the shift
Offering general property information to guests and serving as a knowledgeable and helpful resource throughout the event
What We're Looking For
A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating an exceptional experience for every single guest
Warmth, professionalism, and an engaging personality that makes guests feel genuinely taken care of
Strong knowledge of food and beverage including wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
The ability to explain menu items clearly, confidently, and with enthusiasm
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment
A detail-oriented mindset; you notice what is off before the guest does and you fix it
The ability to stay composed, focused, and solutions-driven under pressure during high-volume events
A proactive approach to service; you anticipate needs rather than waiting to be asked
Strong awareness of food safety, sanitation standards, and workplace safety protocols
Flexibility and availability to work event-driven shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
A commitment to maintaining a minimum of 5 shifts per quarter to remain in active employment status
What are we looking for?
2 to 4 years of food service experience required; banquet service experience is strongly preferred

Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits; ability to speak knowledgeably about beverage offerings with guests
Ability to carry trays and transport food and beverage items safely throughout a shift
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the state of Colorado
Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on your feet for the full duration of a shift
Ability to lift and carry trays and supplies up to 25 lbs. or more throughout the shift
Comfortable bending, reaching, and moving quickly in a banquet environment
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays; events do not follow a traditional schedule
Professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the standards of the Marriott brand
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Who Thrives Here

They communicate without being prompted. They treat every table like it is the most important one in the room, because for the people sitting there, it is. They take pride in synchronized service, in a perfectly cleared course, in a guest who did not have to ask for anything because it was already handled.
