Job Summary:
The Field Support Shop provides general shop, labor and assistance, provide researchers access to trucks and boats along with some light design and fabrication of devices that are required for coastal research. The fleet of trucks and boats are serviced by the shop to maintain operational readiness. The units within this fleet are available on a rental basis with reservations going through an LSU maintained app, an important aspect of this job the ability to process requests for boats and trucks, getting them ready for check-out, then perform return checks and accurate post processing of the rental invoices before they are sent to departmental accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
40% Processing of pre and post boat and truck rental requests.
40% Preparing trucks and boats for each rental event to include operational and
safety readiness checks.
10% Service and maintenance of boats and trucks as per service schedules.
5% Maintain fleet MV-3 reporting forms.
5% Perform various shop duties to include cleaning, organizing, and occasional
light fabrication assistance and any other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Driver's License Required
