Logan Health is seeking an experienced RN Staff Development Educator to support our Acute Care Unit (ACU), Surgical Unit and Float Pool teams. This role is ideal for an experienced bedside nurse who has served as a preceptor, charge nurse, clinical trainer, instructor, or mentor and is passionate about developing the next generation of caregivers.

About the Role
As the RN Staff Development Educator, you will serve as a clinical educator, trainer, and mentor for inpatient nursing teams supporting RNs and CNAs in these units:
Acute Care Unit (ACU)
Surgical Unit
Float Pool
These units care for a diverse patient population and include many newly licensed nurses who rely on strong clinical support, coaching, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
Educator & Trainer
Design and deliver engaging clinical education programs for RNs and CNAs.
Facilitate orientation and onboarding for new caregivers.
Provide hands-on instruction, skills training, and competency validation.
Develop educational resources that support safe, effective patient care.
Preceptor & Mentor Program Support
Partner with unit leaders to strengthen the preceptor experience.
Support and coach preceptors in developing future nurses.
Help ensure new caregivers receive a positive and effective onboarding experience.
Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship throughout orientation.
Clinical Coaching
Serve as a trusted clinical resource for staff and leaders.
Provide real-time coaching to support critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
Identify learning opportunities and develop targeted education plans.
Assist teams in adapting to new processes, standards, and evidence-based practices.
Leadership Partnership
Collaborate with nurse managers and supervisors to identify educational needs.
Support retention efforts through professional development and caregiver engagement.
Help foster a culture of accountability, excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Preferred Experience
Highly qualified candidates will have:
Recent Medical/Surgical, Acute Care, Progressive Care, or inpatient hospital nursing experience.
Experience serving as a:
Charge Nurse
Preceptor
Clinical Instructor
Unit-Based Educator
Nurse Trainer
Clinical Coach
Nurse Mentor
Experience supporting new graduate nurses and nursing assistants.
Demonstrated ability to teach, train, and influence others.
Qualifications
Required
Current Montana RN license or multistate compact license.
Strong inpatient nursing experience.
Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
BSN degree.
Five (5) or more years of Medical/Surgical or Acute Care nursing experience.
Three (3) or more years of experience as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, trainer, instructor, or leader.
Specialty certification and/or Nursing Professional Development certification.
Master's degree in Nursing or related field.

Day Shift - Variable Hours (United States of America)
Location: Logan Health Medical Center – Kalispell, Montana
Schedule: Day Shift – Variable Hours | Full-Time – 36 Hours
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
