

As the Consultant Sales Manager for Chillers, you will be responsible for driving the specification of Johnson Controls’ chiller and HVAC solutions with MEP consultants, developers, and key stakeholders across KwaZulu‑Natal. Your focus will be on our HVAC product portfolio — specifically Chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and Fan Coil Units (FCUs) — ensuring these solutions are positioned and specified in major projects within the region.
You will be based in Durban, working closely with our South Africa team to expand our footprint, strengthen consultant engagement, and support our long‑term growth strategy in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
You will be accountable for securing specifications for our Chillers and Airside products with consultants, clients, and contractors, while also supporting the broader team with value engineering, basis‑of‑design development, and technical training on HVAC equipment.
As part of the Africa organization, you will operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment that enables you to leverage your technical expertise and commercial insight to deliver on our business objectives.
In this role, you will use your strong technical background in Chillers, AHUs, and FCUs to influence consultant designs and ensure Johnson Controls solutions are included in project specifications. You will conduct technical presentations, product training, and seminars for consultants, end users, and industry partners.
You are self‑driven, proactive, and skilled at developing long‑term customer relationships. You bring strong analytical thinking, perseverance, and the ability to manage multiple priorities through excellent planning, organization, and time‑management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Strong technical knowledge of chillers and chilled‑water systems
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with MEP consultants
Demonstrated capability in providing technical advice and developing HVAC solutions
Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, manufacturing, product management)
