

Job Purpose:
Our Inventory Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels across the organization by leveraging Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) tools within the ERP system. This role collaborates closely with Category Management, Sales, Division Management, and Logistics to align purchasing decisions with customer demand and organizational inventory goals. The Inventory Planner manages approximately $3 million in perpetual inventory, balancing service levels with efficient inventory investment.
Job Responsibilities:
● Maintain input data which drives replenishment triggers from the Material Resource Planning system, including lead time, reorder point, maximum inventory level, reorder quantity, scaled purchase quantities.
● Determine proper methodology for inventory management by individual material or groups of materials, between reorder point planning and buying to forecast.
● Assist in development of “bottom up” forecast models and liaises with business owners to gain consensus and agreement.
● Review MRP created Purchase Requisitions for appropriateness and releases to be placed on PO and ordered from suppliers.
● Ensure that quantities and suppliers are in support of best practice purchasing.
● Set up new item numbers along with obtaining copies of vendor quotes and set up cost and Bills of Materials in SAP.
● Complete cost audits on a regular basis.
● Collaborate with Quality to manage adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.
● Review inventory levels, assesses current performance, makes recommendations and changes to optimize inventory related to working capital, customer service and strategic initiatives.
● Responsible for metrics related to inventory management which can include turns, GMROII, inventory aging.
● Manage the onboarding and sunsetting of materials and material groups for the organization ensuring new products support launch and exiting products are fully disposed of.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
● Conduct audits of 3rd party kitting or converting contractor inventory records and manage inventory with off-site 3rd party kitting or converting contractors.
● Experience with 3rd party kitting or converting contractors.
● Experience with Third Party Subcontractor/Vendor Management
● Experience with Quality Management Systems
● Experience in industrial packaging or distribution business is preferred.
●Salary Range: $54,900 - $75,900 annually
Work Experience:
● 3-5 years of related job experience.
● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
● Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
Education:
● Bachelor's Degree Preferred
