Brown University’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on the development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown’s intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master’s students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.
The Admissions Operations Administrator is a temporary, senior-level project-based role reporting to the Associate Dean of Enrollment. This position will lead a strategic initiative to optimize admissions operations infrastructure and operational efficiency within the School of Professional Studies. The AOA will be responsible for auditing current admissions process, policy and procedure, formalizing that knowledge into scalable documentation, and designing sophisticated workflows. This role is focused on architecting systems, authoring comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and developing training frameworks to ensure consistent execution and high-level performance across the admissions team.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Previous experience as an admissions operations leader (or equivalent leadership role) is required
Experience with Technolutions (Slate), Banner, and/or other student information systems
Job Competencies
Proven ability to create high-level operational manuals and complex process documentation
Ability to coach a team through process shifts and translate technical processes for non-technical audiences
Client-centered orientation with impeccable customer service skills
Ability to problem solve effectively in complex and sometimes stressful situations
Excellent follow-through and follow-up skills
Highly developed attention to detail in fast paced and high-volume environments
Ability to work effectively independently, and as a member of a team
