

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Housing invites applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Business Operations. Job duties include managing all financial and administrative operations for University Housing, including student accounts, budgeting, purchasing, service contracts, property control, and departmental reporting. Oversee housing-related charges, payments, reconciliations, and financial communications through Workday and StarRez while ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies. Prepare and maintain financial reports, budgets, purchase orders, inventories, and contract records. Supervises front office operations, trains staff and student workers, supports departmental operations and policy development, manages university-issued cell phone records, and serves as the department’s backup timekeeper using Workday.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Mid-level experience with budgets, with preference given to experience in a higher education setting.
Preference given to experience in finance.
Demonstrated experience with budgets and accounting at a college or university.
Experience with inventory control and office management procedures.
Experience working with accounts payable/receivable and purchasing.
Demonstrated ability to interpret bid documents and specifications, state contracts, and purchasing agreements.

Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel and provide guidance to professional and support staff.
