

1) SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Required to perform various tasks within the Pharmacy Services of KPJ Rawang Specialist Hospital including dispensing, preparation of drugs, instructing customers regarding health monitoring devices and repacking.
2) JOB DESCRIPTION
Ensure compliance to the termed Vision and Mission statements, goals, objectives and values of the Company.
To maintain general cleanliness and hygiene conditions in pharmacy.
To screen in-coming prescriptions.
To fill the prescriptions according to the directions given.
To counter-check the dispensed drugs against the prescriptions.
To dispense the drugs to the patient and provide the necessary instruction, and to instruct customers regarding use of health devices/ medicine devices.
To ensure that no substitution of any single prescribed drug is made without the approval of prescriber.
To record all Psychotropic drugs dispensed in Psychotropic Substances Inpatient Pharmacy Record Book/Psychotropic Substances Outpatient Pharmacy Record Book whichever applicable for Psychotropic Substances to
be issued and to keep account for the balance under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
To compound creams, lotions and mixtures and prepare dilutions for stock and for extemporaneous use.
To prepare chemical and pharmaceutical preparations and maintaining of their inventory.
To repack bulk drugs into suitable units for dispensing.
To indent for drugs, containers and labels for pharmacy use whenever required.
To assist in stock-taking.
To assist in orientation of new personnel and participate in continuing educational program and training.
To assist Pharmacist(s) in ward check.
To lead, supervise and train others if needed for routine operational processes.
Adhere to all Acts, Laws, Rules and Regulations governing the pharmacy services at all time.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist In Charge and Pharmacists.
Further instruction by the Top Management of RSH or KPJ as a whole.
Ensure to actively participate in all quality initiatives and activities by the Company.
Ensure adhere to The KPJ Way/ Standard People Practice (SPP).
Other Responsibilities
Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and MSQH Hospital Accreditation Standard are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented.
Participate in 5S activities and comply with the specified requirements.
Ensure adhere to The KPJ Way/ Standard People Practice (SPP).
Ensure the policies on patients and family’s rights are addressed at all times.
Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
Perform any other duties assigned by the superior.
To carried out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994.
To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons.
To co-operate with your employer or any other persons in the discharge of any duty.
To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer.
To comply with any instruction or measure on Occupational Safety and Health.
3) JOB REQUIREMENT
Diploma in Pharmacy or Certificate in Pharmacy Assistant from Ministry of Health or School of Pharmacy Assistants.
Fresh graduates or preferably with relevant experience in Hospital/healthcare business or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Can work in shift.
Demonstrates the ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hospital, the brand and the Company.
Ability to identify market segments, niches and potential markets.
Willingness to do work after office hours/weekends/public holidays when required.
Microsoft office literacy.
Able to work well on multiple projects & meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibility and reliability to take charge of certain projects independently.
Willing to travel.
Excellent English communication skills both oral and written.
Prepared to work as a team member in the manner the best.
