The Director of Marketing leads enterprise-wide executional marketing strategy for a diversified chemical manufacturer serving multiple end markets (e.g., food & beverage, water treatment, agriculture, industry, and specialty chemicals). This role is responsible for building market-facing clarity across platforms, driving demand and commercial enablement, and strengthening brand credibility in highly technical and regulated environments.
Primary responsibilities include:
Digital & Marketing Operations
Own production and execution of all marketing communications across platforms, including:
Websites and landing pages
Brochures, flyers, and application sheets
Case studies, white papers, and technical summaries
Trade show planning, materials, signage, and presentations
Lead initiatives to improve lead generation, conversion rates, and customer acquisition efficiency across all marketing channels.
Ensure consistent brand, tone, and messaging across all markets and channels.
Use data-driven insights to influence brand positioning, messaging, and campaign strategies.
Leverage automation, CRM, and analytics tools to drive efficiencies.
Manage marketing budgets, direct reports, and vendor relationships.
Assess performance metrics and adjust strategies to ensure ROI and sustainable growth outcomes.
Market and Customer Insight
Understands industry and competitive trends and identifies and targets marketing of specific new or underserved markets.
Partner with Strategy and Commercial teams to monitor industry trends, customer feedback/buyer journeys, competitive dynamics and competitor positioning to inform decision-making.
Collaborate with Strategic Marketing in enhancing VOC (Voice of Customer), NPS, and other data or feedback mechanisms to continuously improve marketing effectiveness.
Partner with HR on employment branding efforts, ensuring consistent messaging across recruiting, onboarding, and external talent‑facing channels that supports attraction, engagement, and retention of top talent
Champion a customer-centric culture across the organization by sharing insights and fostering alignment around customer needs.
Sales Enablement & Commercial Support
Develop and maintain sales tools to support Commercial teams:
Sales decks, segment playbooks, and product one‑pagers
Customer-facing presentations and templates
Partner with sales leadership to support key account initiatives and launches.
Act as the primary marketing point of contact for day‑to‑day sales requests.
Marketing Team Management & Development
Develop and grow marketing talent through thoughtful allocation of work, stretch assignments, and cross‑functional exposure, ensuring team members gain the skills, visibility, and experience needed to advance their careers.
Lead, manage, and mentor the direct reports by aligning individual strengths and development goals with business priorities, providing opportunities for increased responsibility, leadership exposure, and impact.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the VP of Strategy
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
8–12+ years of progressive business-to-business marketing experience, including people leadership.
Experience supporting technical, industrial, or chemical products.
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable working cross‑functionally with sales, HR and technical teams.
Experience in multi-platform or multi‑end‑market organizations.
Familiarity with regulated environments (EPA, FDA, USDA, OSHA).
Background in water treatment, food & beverage, agriculture, or industrial chemicals.
