Regional Tax Manager, APAC
Role Purpose:
The Regional Tax Manager, APAC role will focus on tax compliance in Singapore, including matters relating to direct and indirect taxes, and work with external tax advisors to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of returns for the entities in Singapore and its related branches. The role will also support reporting requirements with Singapore government agencies such as grants/incentives etc, and also assist with regional tax reporting and consolidation requirements.
The Regional Tax Manager, APAC is expected to be familiar with the extraction and preparation of data for reporting purposes, and work closely with various internal stakeholders including Accounting, Manufacturing, HR to prepare tax returns for the Singapore entities and its related branches.
Role Responsibilities:
Technical and organizational support of all transfer pricing and tax related topics/issues in Asia P+F Entities (“APAC”), ensuring adherence to tax compliance regulations within APAC
Preparation or support in the preparation of tax returns for the APAC region to ensure the filings are accurate and timely, particularly in charge of Singapore tax returns preparation and filing. To support any deferred tax calculation at year end as required
Incharge, coordinate and support of all tax audits/queries within the APAC region
Timely prepare and/or support the preparation of the APAC entities local transfer pricing documentations including Local Files, Country by Country Reporting, intercompany agreements etc. and adherence to all local timeline
To review the need for TP adjustment if needed by year end and handle the adjustment process and related tax, custom requirements within the APAC region
Support the roll out of any Global or regional tax project
Support and coordinate the implementation of Global Tax and Transfer pricing guidelines in the APAC region
Development of processes and guidelines relating to all tax process and guidelines within the APAC region
Prepare and advise solutions regarding any tax inquiries of the APAC companies in the field of transfer pricing, regional/cross functional tax, and Direct/indirect tax and tax audit/queries
Support and/or Develop tax strategies across APAC as to ensure tax compliance and reduce tax exposure of the companies
Day to day support and coordination with all business partners on tax related matters and assignment to ensure tax compliance internationally and locally
Coordinate and Interface between Regional Director Finance and Head of Global Tax and their local tax advisors/auditors for all tax matters in APAC region
Ad hoc projects and assignments including special tax grants/incentives application and analysis, tax process enhancement, tax Governance projects, strategic tax planning analysis, and automation projects etc
Role Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and tax, or equivalent is preferred
Minimum 5 years of tax experience with combination from Big 4 & in-house tax department with regional exposure from APAC
Good knowledge of the tax laws (Income tax, transfer price, VAT/GST, cross border transactions), preferably having both direct tax and indirect tax experience
Excellent written, communication and organizational skills, able to analyze relevant tax law and summarize findings in non-technical business language for management team and internal clients
Good business acumen
Ability to work independently and conscientiously
