POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly analytical and technology-driven Senior Accountant to join our team, focused on the GOLFTEC portion of the business. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with advanced Excel automation, AI-powered tools, and a continuous process improvement mindset.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in modernizing financial workflows, automating reporting processes, and improving data visibility across the organization. This position supports the monthly close, financial reporting, operational analytics, and sales & use tax compliance, while building scalable systems that reduce manual effort and sharpen financial insight.
The ideal candidate brings a positive, team-first attitude along with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and clear communication — both written and verbal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting & Close
Ensure sales transactions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP — complete, accurate, and timely
Prepare and post journal entries for inventory, revenue, expenses, and accruals
Reconcile the general ledger to subledgers for inventory and other key balance sheet accounts
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Accurately record and manage expenses across the company
Sales & Use Tax
Manage multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including timely and accurate filing of returns
Research nexus requirements and taxability rules across relevant jurisdictions
Coordinate with third-party tax providers and Avalara tax software to ensure proper calculation and remittance
Monitor regulatory changes affecting sales and use tax obligations
Respond to tax notices and support audits related to sales and use tax
AI Tools & Process Improvement
Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to automate repetitive accounting tasks and enhance reporting
Identify and implement workflow improvements that reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy
Build and maintain scalable Excel models, dashboards, and automated reports to support financial visibility
Document and refine standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and scalability as the company grows
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Partner with cross-functional teams and key business stakeholders to deliver accurate, actionable financial information
Build strong working relationships within the Finance and Accounting team to drive continuous improvement
Support ad hoc projects and analysis as requested by management
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
2–3+ years of progressive accounting experience (required)
CPA or CPA candidate a plus
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, automation)
Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve accounting workflows and productivity
Working knowledge of sales and use tax compliance across multiple states
Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) or similar ERP a plus
