Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Position: Staff Support Tech - Central Resource Team
Location: Elmhurst Hospital
Part-Time: 24 hour work week
Hours: Days - 6:30am-7:00pm

What you will do: This role may provide basic care for patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse on our inpatient units and facilitate communication between the patient, their family, and the patient’s care team via video conference applications or phone.

Responds to the immediate needs of the patient by answering patient call lights promptly and courteously.
As directed, by RN, makes hourly or more frequent rounds on patients for safety, comfort, and meeting patients' needs/requests
Positions, lifts, transfers, and ambulates patients as directed by the RN; use of Safe Patient Handling equipment
Assist with setting up meals for patients and ordering meals
Keeps patient rooms tidy, refreshes patient’s linen as need, removes unnecessary equipment and linen
Assists patient with simple hygiene/comfort measures such as washing hands/face and oral care
As directed by the RN, transports patient to other departments or during discharge
When directed by the RN, remains with the patient continuously for patient safety.
Handles infectious waste and linen according to established hospital procedure
Adheres to proper infection control standards and hand washing techniques to avoid cross contamination
