The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, PRN works within a collaborative inpatient pharmacy team consisting of approximately 13 technicians and 8 pharmacists, supporting a variety of hospital caregivers and patient care areas. This role offers broad exposure to inpatient pharmacy operations through rotating responsibilities across multiple workflows. First shift responsibilities may include Pyxis refills, inventory management, virtual carousel operations, receiving medication orders, IV room support, non-sterile compounding, and other core pharmacy functions. Second shift responsibilities focus more heavily on medication deliveries to patient floors, cycle counts, Pyxis refills, and IV preparation as needed. The workload is manageable, and technicians are cross-trained to support multiple operational areas.
This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position will work a variety of days and hours as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the Registered Pharmacist.
Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
Fill medications carts daily.
Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
Repackage bulk medications.

Six months of hospital experience
