Community Giving Officer

Please note this position may be required to attend events and meetings outside of regular business hours to support operational needs

Key Skills and Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in a related field/discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered;
• A valid G class driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract;
• Experience growing a fundraising program and in an annual fund environment;
• Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge NXT and solid computer competency including (but not limited to) word processing, Excel, spreadsheets, Outlook, web applications, internet search engines and reporting tools;
• Applied working knowledge of a call centre environment, strategies for giving and operational needs;
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices associated with annual giving fundraising in higher education;
• Knowledge of statistics, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis, predictive analytics, research methods and trend analysis;
• Knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g. FIPPA, Canada Revenue Agency, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation) and confidentiality requirements;
• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising in a post-secondary environment;
• Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community;
• Strong written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships;
• Demonstrated creativity and the ability to develop programming aligned to strategic priorities and industry trends/best practices;
• Strong prioritization and time management skills combined with the ability to manage multiple projects;
• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and strong organizational and analytical skills;
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make independent decisions, escalating to direct manager, as appropriate;
• Adaptable when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with the ability to anticipate unforeseen issues and proactively manage problems as they arise.

Salary and Total Rewards:

• Job Grade L, Salary Scale ($67,721-108,353);
• Target Hiring Range: $67,721-$73,000*
• This is a permanent position that includes:
• Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage.
• Pension Plan: Enrollment eligibility in the Brock University Pension Plan.
• Vacation: Up to 3 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays.
• Professional Development: Eligibility for the Brock Tuition Waiver Program.

*The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
