The ITS Director for Fare Collection Systems with a minimum of 12 years senior technical and management experience and a university degree, shall be responsible for the overall management, performance, and integration of the fare collection system of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) across the Public Transport Network. This includes AFC (Automatic Fare Collection), CCC (Customer Contact Center) and associated systems and interfaces, including integration with external stakeholders such as the Metro Network. He shall ensure that the interfaces between the ITS Contractors and the other project transport operators are efficient and implemented in sufficient time to allow for the smooth operation of the Bus and metro systems. He shall be responsible for all ITS-related technical deliverables on behalf of the Employer and shall ensure that no scope or responsibility gaps exist across Contractors or systems. He shall be responsible for system performance, revenue management, Central Clearing House, stakeholder reporting, vendor management and compliance with RCRC/contract obligations. The role ensures that all ITS systems operate efficiently, meet contractual KPIs, and support seamless public transport operations across around 1,000 metro and bus stations.
Role and Responsibilities
Oversee the performance, reliability of the Fare collection systems including AFC, CCC as well as all integration with AVM and Journey Planning systems.
Ensure effective interface management between Bus Contractors, ITS Contractors, and external systems and stakeholders such as Metro.
Monitor system performance and resolve inconsistencies, faults, and integration issues.
Ensure robust revenue collection and management processes are implemented between the operators and the Client finance department.
Ensure contractors meet contractual KPIs and performance targets.
Oversee maintenance, backup, cybersecurity, and data protection practices for all systems.
Lead vendor and contractor management related to ITS systems.
Ensure proper implementation of software management best practices and data security requirements.
Review and approve all technical deliverables submitted by ITS contractors.
Identify and close any responsibility gaps related to ITS scope.
Ensure timely implementation of interfaces to support smooth bus operations.
Lead stakeholder reporting related to ITS performance and compliance.
Support operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification & Education Requirements
Bachelor degree in Engineering, IT, or related field
Mandatory Experience
Minimum 12 years of experience in ITS and transport systems or related fields
Proven experience in managing large-scale ITS systems integrations and management of their operations and maintenance
Experience in contractor and stakeholder management
Strong understanding of system interfaces, software management, and cybersecurity
Experience in KPI monitoring and performance management
